Montañita is an undefined zone of fishermen’s of the Parish Manglaralto, in the Ecuadorian coasts and in the Santa Elena canton of the province with the same name in Ecuador and by where it passes the road of the Route of the Sun or “Route of the Spondylus”. It is located only 200 km from the city of Guayaquil, off the coast of the Pacific Ocean, on the west coast of South America.

An immersive seaside resort with hills and vegetation all around it,at the foot of the sea. Beautiful landscapes that makes it as one of the most visited places of Ecuador by young and lovers of surf, who impregnated it with an attractive atmosphere of relaxation and restless parties that do not die before dawn.

A destination that also attracts its picturesque village, where rustic constructions based on cane and straw are mixed inns, an endless number of bars, informal restaurants, craft fairs and surf shops, between pedestrian streets where reggae music is a constant next to the flags with symbols of peace.

Parasailing

Parasailing is a sport that recently arrived in Montañita; basically, the one who is going to practice the sport adheres by means of a harness and cords to a parachute in the earth and is tied in turn to a boat. The boat exits at full speed and raises the person to a height of about 20 to 40 meters depending on the wind. At the end of the journey, the person descends to the water and the boat picks him up to be bring ashore again. You can observe Montañita from the sea and enjoy flying even for a moment.

For those who like to bike, you can go to the commune of Dos Mangas, which is 30 minutes from Montañita and enjoy the road that is very beautiful. After the commune, you can follow two paths where you will reach small waterfalls and pools of water in the middle of the forest where you can refresh and spend a picnic afternoon.

The Commune of Dos Mangas has located about 7 km from Montañita, road to Manglaralto, via Dos Mangas up the mountain. In there, also, you can hire a guide to guide the trails, you will also find shops and places o eat in the center of the village.

Bicycles are available on rent in Montañita or you can also go by car.

La Punta

La Punta is the encounter with another world; here you will find fish, oysters, spondylitis, and infinity of marine beings; very early in the morning, you will see the natives looking for oysters or some other type of seafood. In the rocky part of the sea, and along the beach, you will see native hiding in the in the sand hollows in order to find clams.

At dusk, you can witness a beautiful sunset near the breaking of the waves on the rocks. Sky with a variety of colors from blue to pink, orange and yellow. Ideal for all types of tourists but perfect for photographers and/or/ fans.

La Punta has everything that a person needs to be peaceful, in peace and away from the stresses of the city, is a sector where you will find a variety of hotels, hostels, camping, restaurants, rent of tables for surf, service of massages in tents on the beach, cultural diversity, etc.

In addition to its beautiful beach, the tourist should know that due to its rock formations. The current of the sea are usually in the form of “swirls”. It is convenient not to enter the sea before consulting the natives, authorities about waves and personnel as guardians. If the sea is in conditions to enter, always follow the recommendations to avoid some tragedy. Remember that the sea is respectful and can present surprising changes at any time.
